Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength

We all have a few base coats in our collections that we switch back and forth between. I have a tendency to reach for the same few quite a lot, and somehow forget about this one every so often.  As it is only advertised as a hardener, it is likely to be passed over when looking for a good base.

It does get thick rather quickly; but a bottle of polish restore/thinner is a must-have for any collection, and keeps the consistency very workable. The main reason why I like using this as a base, is the dry-down texture. It stays kind of tacky, and really does grab the polish. That same reason though, obviously rules it out as a good top coat.

I use this paired with Zoya Remove+ as a prep, and Seche Vite as a top coat and have gotten around a week of wear from every polish I have tried with this method. Absolutely perfect for those busy weeks! And the bonus? My nails are noticeably stronger in the past month or so that I have been using this as my base.

Finger Paints - Fun-Fetti Swatchboard

I've had this swatchboard for quite a while, and just had to show you guys how versatile that Finger Paints Fun-Fetti really is. Depending on your "overcoat", the overall look of the glitter changes, and falls right in line to match the shade for some gorgeous inlaid action. While the possibilities are endless, here are 12 different ways to get more bang for your buck with the multicolored glitter bomb.

Obviously, some of my choices in overcoat were better than others- but a few of them are definitely standouts.

Alessandro - Blue Lagoon

I received this gorgeous dusty/smoky medium blue cream in my Birchbox this month. It was a little thick while applying, but leveled out to a wonderful finish.

Color Club : Cherubic

I can't believe I almost let the current piss poor shape of my nails almost talk me out of sharing this beauty with you! I have spent my entire nailaddict life wanting holos that have this effect. I can truly say that I am in love with it, and have spent well over the normal amount of time staring dumbly at my hand with it on. I picked up 2 from the Halo Hues Collection, and I will be going back for the others as soon as possible.

The formula was a little fussy, it likes to drag a little. It definitely isn't enough to keep me from coming back for more, I can definitely see me reaching for this gem often. I can't compare the holo effect to other linear holos, as this is my first go-around. I am excited to try layering with this because it isn't as brown/tan as I would have hoped.

Shown Here :
Color Club - Cherubic (2 thin coats)
Seche Vite

Sometimes I can't tell if my nails are crooked or curling... or if its just the shape of my small (size 4 ring finger) hands that cause the nails to look this way. Either way, it unnerves me to no end.

Have you gotten any of the Halo Hues Collection? Do you have any tips on nail shaping for me? Do you think maybe its just my fingers that are crooked? Ha!

Pueen Cosmetics 2013 Nail Image Plates 1-25

Although I haven't actually tried these plates yet (the blue film is a dead giveaway. I leave it on until I decide to use a plate for the first time now.), I must say that I am very impressed with them. There aren't as many of the same designs that run rampant in most starting plate collections. Comparisons and looks to come.

Will you be ordering the first collection by Pueen? Which are your favorite designs?
